Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 14 October 2026

1. Overview

This policy explains what information Extract Arabic collects when you use the service, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. Extract Arabic is currently in beta, and this policy should be read together with our Terms & Conditions.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account data: your name, email address, password (stored as a one way hash), and how you heard about us if you choose to tell us.
  • Google sign in: if you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account ID, name, email address and profile picture URL. We never receive your Google password and we do not access any other data in your Google account.
  • Documents: the PDFs and images you upload, the text extracted from them, and related processing data.
  • Contact messages: the name, email address and message you send through the contact form, along with your IP address and browser information to protect against spam.
  • Technical data: session data, server logs and error reports needed to run and fix the service.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account and sign you in
  • To process your documents and extract their text
  • To respond to your messages and support requests
  • To send service emails, such as email verification and password resets
  • To improve the accuracy of the service, as described in section 4
  • To keep the service secure and protect it from abuse

We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for advertising.

4. Documents and Model Training

Important Notice: During the beta, the documents you upload and the text extracted from them may be used to train and improve our OCR and data extraction models. Please do not upload sensitive, confidential, or personal information.

5. Third Party Service Providers

We share information only with the providers we need to run Extract Arabic, and only as far as they need it:

  • AI model providers: pages of your documents are sent to them to extract text.
  • Google: for authentication when you choose to sign in with Google.
  • Sentry: to monitor and diagnose technical errors.
  • Hosting and email providers: to store data, run the service and deliver emails.

We may also disclose information when required by law.

6. Cookies

We only use cookies that the service needs to work: keeping you signed in, protecting forms against forged requests, and remembering the language you chose. We do not use advertising or cross site tracking cookies.

7. Data Retention

  • We keep your account data for as long as your account is active.
  • Temporary files created during processing are deleted shortly after a document finishes processing.
  • Uploaded documents and extracted text may be retained for model improvement, even after you delete your account. Once your account is deleted, those documents are no longer linked to it.

8. Security

We use encryption in transit and at rest and restrict access to data. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.

9. Your Rights

  • You can view and update your profile details at any time from your profile page.
  • You can delete your account from your profile page.
  • You can contact us to request a copy of your data, ask us to delete specific documents, or ask any question about how your information is handled.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
